Dear parents and guardians of the Pride,
Welcome to the start of another great year! Wednesday was a fantastic day having everyone back in the building. On behalf of the entire staff, we are very much looking forward to working with you and all of your children this year. We have much to look forward to including our second high school commencement, our first home football games, and another year of high growth just to name a few. We are also welcoming back the largest Pride ever with 400 students at the middle school! There is always so much to be done at this time of year, and with that in mind, there are a couple of reminders for all of you as this year gets underway:
∞ All 6th graders have to get the TDap Booster shot by September 1, 2009 and send documentation from the doctor to the school. If students have not received this shot by September 1st, they will not be allowed to attend school until proof of receiving it is submitted to the school.
∞ The school supply fee of $20 needs to be paid by September 2, 2009 in order for your child to attend the earned end of summer school trip.
∞ Please be sure that children have money for lunch and breakfast when needed. Students will not be allowed to charge any meals this year.
∞ We must have written documentation from a parent/guardian in order to have students ride different buses. This is an issue of safety as we want to be sure that we are hearing directly from you. Please send notes with students as we will not take student messages over the phone.
∞ We must have a signed and completed form from a physician in order to administer any prescription medication to a student. You can get the form from Mrs. Sessoms.
∞ Attached is our staff contact roster as well as our calendar for the year.

September 4 Earned end-of-summer-school trip for grades 5-7

September 8 Students Return (release at 5:00 pm)
October 23 First Quarter Ends
October 26 Teacher Work Day and Parent Conferences
*There will be an open house for the KIPP: GCP and KPHS Boosters this Thursday August 27th from 6-8 pm in the KIPP Pride High cafeteria. Everyone is welcome to come meet athletes and coaches and support our athletic program. Contact Nancy Rogers at 326-4994 with any questions.
